Coming up on July 24, Hayabusa’s Corey Lautischer is taking on Ryan Dallyn at EFC 5 in Lloydminster. Here is what Corey had to say about his upcoming battle and his team at Hayabusa TC:
What do you know about your opponent?
He
wanted the fight at 125 originally, so I think I am going to be stronger than
him. And I know he likes to take it to the ground, so that will play out well
for me since that's my strongest area.
What is your style?
I was originally a submission grappler, but thanks to all of the training I have been doing, I feel like I am a much more well rounded fighter, a true mixed martial artist.
How do you think the fight will play out?
If he decides to stand and trade I think he will be quickly shocked by how hard I can hit, so he will most likely try to bring it to the ground. When the fight does go to the ground, I think he will be overwhelmed by my technique and my strength. Wherever the fight goes I feel very confident that I am superior.
What is your strategy?
As
always I need to be able to flow with the fight, but I have a general game plan
that will be revealed during the fight.
How important is your team at Hayabusa in preparing you for the fight?
Hayabusa, in my opinion, has one of the best teams around. They have been very selective so far in who is allowed to join the team, and I believe that the quality definitely shows. Everyone on the team is very skilled, and make great training partners. It is almost impossible to make it through a single session without having team mates help you with technique, push you harder during a workout or talk strategy about an upcoming fight. I am very grateful to be a part of the team.
How did you find Hayabusa Training Centre?
I
was preparing for my first amateur fight, training with a friend from my Ju-Jitsu
class, when he told me that the facility had opened up. I made a phone call and
started as fast as I could.
Where do you see your career heading after this fight?
I would like to take a couple more fights right away to help gain some more experience, then start being a little more picky about who I fight and when. I really want to see how far I can take it, and I love doing what I do.
