Some big results for our team this past weekend. Tyler Edworthy picked up a silver medal at the IBJJF World Masters Championships in Las Vegas, while Tanner Boser gets a TKO victory over a UFC veteran.

September 25/26 Hayabusa coach Tyler Edworthy competed at the IBJJF
World Master Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tyler
beat several competitors on his way to a silver medal at the
Championships at Purple Belt. Very impressive victory considering that
this is the World Championships.
Unified MMA returned for their 24th event at the
mirage Banquet Hall in Edmonton, Alberta. In the main event former
Unified Heavyweight Champion Tanner “The Bulldozer” Boser fought UFC
Veteran Victor “The Finnisher” Valimaki.

Round
1: Boser opens with a leg kick and another. Boser slams another pair of
hard leg kicks and continues to measure the range. Boser with another
and Valimaki looks have hurt his knee as he steps gingerly on it. Boser
continues to slam big leg kicks into Valimaki’s thigh and knee looking
to chop him down. Valimaki has been largely shut out offensively for the
first half of the round and Boser continues and Valimaki finally lands a
one-two. Valimaki with a leg kick of his own and Boser right back.
Valimaki looks to get a hold of his for a takedown but Boser stays out
of reach. Boser flying knee and they tie up on the cage. Valimaki with
an uppercut to the body and they separate and a leg kick for Valimaki.
Boser high kick blocked and continues to attack the legs before ducking a

Round
2: They exchange shots and Boser sticks with whats working and goes
back to the legs. Boser connects with some solid shots and the leg kick
exclamation. Boser with a hard right and teep to the knee. Boser keeps
assaulting the knee and thigh with vicious kicks. Boser with a body kick
and Valimaki uses it to get the fight to the mat and gets full mount.
Valimaki postures up and lands hard shots. Valimaki’s leg looks like
hamburger meat and Boser gets back to his feet and the crowd explodes as
Boser unleashes a barrage of punches. Boser slips on a punch attempt
but comes right back and keeps landing adding in an elbow. Boser with a
teep to the knee and Valimaki winces, Boser follows up with one final
vicious leg kick that finishes Valimaki off and referee Kyle Cardinal
step in between giving Boser undoubtedly the biggest win of his career.
